the smartest scientist became a traitor for a pack of gums, a pair of jeans and a bottle of widow clicquot champagne, ended up getting executed. left his wife a widow, who then fell for a corrupted officer for black caviar, meat cans, salami, chocolates, a pineapple. all those happened in the 80s, nowadays it'll be a lot more expensive to turn a man into a traitor and becomes a gold digger's sugar daddy

Loved this movie especially the love story of Oleg and Masha. I can see that Oleg can see what kind of a person is Marina. He knows her very well. He is just a decent man that he just wants to help Marina out of human compassion. Oleg and Marina really love and respect each other. I’m still watching this movie repeatedly. I really admire Oleg and Marsha’s love story. ❤️👍👏

In these films everybody ALWAYS ANSWER their phones. It's rude from my generation to absolutely NOT have a dinner or a night out without answering the godforsaken phone! The phone DRIVES THE ACTION.....! 🤔🥺 Not necessarily the characters.......! ! ! Annoying for this USA resident.

This is a great series so far. I look forward to watching the rest. The subtitles are good enough to follow the story, but the many errors are very distracting. They should be redone by someone with a better command of English grammar and style so that this can get the audience it deserves.

I just don’t understand of how Oleg’s mom not aware of how Marina betrayed her son and Marina even cheated many times during their marriage. It’s unbelievable that mother-in-law likes the liar, narcissist and con artist Marina. Oleg be smart and don’t even think to continue seeing this horrible person.

Another good example of an excellent Russian film showing a brief encounter in that frozen land. The acting was superb and the storyline well written. They were a brave people them. Too bad it isn't so now. Joe S

Oleg’s first wife was mean, narcissistic, adulterous, psychotic. liar, cunning. I’m glad Oleg divorced her. Masha is just a kind soul. She really loves Oleg that’s why she puts up with mother-in-law. Masha reminds me of most Philippine mothers, they dance their baby around to put them to sleep. Oleg and Masha’s love for each other is not perfect but I admire how they both try to understand each others imperfections. Thanks for this great movie. ❤️👍👏

I love Oleg’s character as a loving, faithful husband to Masha and a family man. His first wife was psychotic, narcissistic, liar and unfaithful to Oleg and didn’t want to be bothered with kids. I believe he really loves Marsha. Loved this movie. Oleg just wanted to help his ex- wife out of the goodness of his heart. And you don’t kick a person while they are down. He had a change of heart on Marsha’s friend. In the end he helped those illegal harvesting of embryos and selling of kids. Watching from Florida USA. ❤️👍👏

Oleg is what I considered the perfect husband, loving and romantic, caring, faithful to wife and family and very loving son. Marsha is trying to be a good mother and wife but she gets overboard and overprotective of the baby. Everything was wrong with the first wife Marina conniving, cheat, cynical and narcissistic. Loved Oleg’s character and he is good looking. ❤️👍👏

Drug dealers are "unlicensed pharmacists." Shoplifters are “nonpaying shoppers”, rapists are “non-consensual lovers”, home invaders are “uninvited guests”, murder is “unsolicited euthanasia” and bank robbery is called “unauthorized withdrawal”, and of course, illegally entering a country is somehow "an act of immigration."
